All moved in

On Wednesday 10/18, we finally closed on our new house. We did our final walk through at 9:00 AM and signed the papers at 10:00. From that moment until now has been a bit of a blurr. I took 8 days off of work to get as much unpacking and setting up as we could get done. We are in pretty good shape. There is still bunch of stuff in the garage that need a home. We need to get inventive with some storage solutions. We still need to work on window treatments; blinks and curtains etc..
I still have some network wiring and speakers and stuff to clean up / install but it's starting to feel like home.

I am also still working on getting our phone. I had Verizon out to install the phone/internet and when they got there they found that there was only one cable wired into the house and I needed two, one for the internet and one for the phone. Rather than have them run another wire up the side of my house I signed up for "Voicewing"; Verizon's VoIP service; Phone over the internet. It is up and running with a temporary phone number. I am still working to get the other number, the one we sent out to everyone transferred to the VoIP line.

Sorry for the delay in blogging. As you can tell I have been busy. I will try and start more regular posts, including commentary now that things are starting to settle down .... hopefully.

News from Tey-has

Monday, We receive an offer to purchase our NC house. After some negotiations we came to an agreement with the buyer. The contract is not officially in hand yet but just 10 minutes ago I faxed the signed offer back to our realtor. So barring any major complications in the inspection or financing etc we can relax a bit. We certainly should be celebrating but the excitement is squelched by the degree we had to bend on our sale price. We did not budget for, or expect to have to come down as far as we did. Like I said we should be able to relax a little

The new home is all but complete. We have a walk through scheduled for Wednesday 10-11. And assuming all goes well we can tentatively expect to close on the TX house on the 18th. We have agreement from the builder and mortgage company on that date, we just are waiting to hear from the title company, who, apparently runs the show in Texas.

That's the big news at this point.

Back to work for me....
