Stuff and things

Just a quick note to catch you up.

The big news is still our pending move to Texas. I flew down to Dallas 2/26 for a training class. But I spent all my spare time driving around different areas of the Metroplex looking for a place to live. Karen flew down that Wednesday to join me.

We pretty much decided on Wylie Texas as the town. Primarily because of the school system reputation and the fact it is less crowded and the local traffic is less congested than most of the other areas while still being a reasonable commute into the office.

We have not nailed down a specific neighborhood, we found one we liked but it is a little pricey. Our second choice is less pricey but not quite as nice.... We are working on it.

The housing prices, as far as dollars per square foot are much cheaper than Durham but we found that rooms in Dallas are bigger than our current house. So to get the same functional space we have to get a bigger house. Even still not a biggie but when you take out all the expenses involved in moving; Closing Costs, Real estate fees, moving trucks, Airline Tickets, Hotels ....
It really eats into the equity we have built up in our house.

Nortel, so far, is not offering to pay for any moving expenses. I knew this going in but still have hope they will come up with some assistance.

We are having a garage Sale Saturday, Patching some drywall, replacing a sink, removing the model train from the attic and replacing it with counter tops, fixing this and that, in preparation to put the house on the market. Lots to do in so little time.

Other than that, Karen and Tyler are going to New York City with the band over spring break. Kyle, Michelle and I are going to take a couple of days while they are gone and head to VA to Visit Mom.

Other than that Karen is starting a internet venture; Basically she is re-selling used books on Amazon.com. Her "shop name" on amazon is "UNeed2Read". So if you are looking for used books.... (or you have some used books you would like to donate ;-)

Michelle's Birthday is today. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!!!!"
She is on intersession for the next 3 weeks. So if you see her on IM during school hours you will know why.

Kyle is home sick. We are hoping it is just a flu. Tyler has a friend with Mono. We are keeping our fingers crossed he does not have Mono. Other than that, Kyle is keeping keeping-on.

Tyler is gearing up for College. Again not to much new going on there.

Bob is home for Spring Break. He is working at the Durham Bulls while he is home.
